What is being "mindful?" Should you care about how "mindfulness" can make a better you? Why does it matter? It matters because all too often we run on autopilot...going about our day without really thinking about it. We get up, brush our teeth, tie our ties, commute to work, read through emails, return phone calls, go to meetings, commute home, sit in front of the tv, and go to bed. Repeat. Where have our lives gone? Mindfulness is a practice that enables us to be present, to actually see with our eyes, listen with our ears, feel with our whole bodies. It gives the world vibrancy and us a personality. Think about if you are really present during your day. Are you really invested in your life? |
